History of KIA

Kia was founded in South Korea in 1944 and has since gone onto become a global superpower in the automotive industry. 

The ‘Kia’ name comes from the Sino-Korean characters ‘ki’, 'to arise' and ‘a’, meaning 'Asia’. This roughly translates to "Rising from (East) Asia". 

Since 1998, Kia has been part-owned by Hyundai, which has only added to its reliability and build quality.

Charging costs do vary, but both types of powertrains are affordable to run relative to some rivals. We’d recommend buying a used Kia if you like to pinch your pennies (and who doesn’t?) and need a dependable motor to get you around without any faff.
