History of KIA

Kia was founded in South Korea in 1944 and has since gone onto become a global superpower in the automotive industry. 

The ‘Kia’ name comes from the Sino-Korean characters ‘ki’, 'to arise' and ‘a’, meaning 'Asia’. This roughly translates to "Rising from (East) Asia". 

Since 1998, Kia has been part-owned by Hyundai, which has only added to its reliability and build quality.

Despite being ‘budget’ cars, you do get a surprising amount of the best interior tech, which means you’re not left disconnected from the rest of the world when on the move in your used Kia.
