History of Volvo

Volvo is a Swedish car manufacturer that was bought by China's Geely in 2010 to help with its overseas expansion into Europe. 

The brand we know and love is known as Volvo Cars, to separate it from its other branch that makes trucks, buses and construction equipment. 

Volvo also owns a chunk of the electric car brand Polestar and a decent chunk of Lynk & Co, a Chinese-Swedish car brand.

 As far as technology goes, Volvos are wildly impressive, with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat-nav and a Wi-Fi hotspot.  

It doesn’t stop there, because you also get some more premium optional extras such as heated seats, air-con and a premium sound system. Volvo also offers a variety of other comfort features, such as a panoramic sunroof, massage seats and a heads-up display.  

The real cherry on top is Volvo’s attention to detail regarding safety. Its features include airbags, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning.
