Puma
Use our Help Me Choose tool to go from 1000s of cars to just a handful of recommendations — and cinch your search.
Start nowThe Ford Puma is essentially a Fiesta on stilts, and that's no bad thing.
In fact, it means the Puma offers the same driving engaging experience and benefits that the hatchback offers, but in a slightly larger crossover SUV package.
The Puma name isn’t new either, because it was first used in the late '90s and sat proudly on Ford’s fun little coupé, which was also based on the Fiesta of its era. Admittedly, today’s Puma is much larger and offers different things, but it's still fun to drive as crossovers go – especially in ST form.

Its main rivals are the Renault Captur, Volkswagen T-Cross and Nissan Juke, but many motorists are swayed by the reliability and value-for-money reputation of a Ford.
You can also choose from a range of engines, including some with efficient hybrid tech for saving money on running costs.
Popular Ford Puma trims
There aren’t many trim levels to pick from when it comes to the Ford Puma because it’s only available in higher specifications.
> Ford Puma Titanium - Entry-level model with lots of equipment, like a heated windscreen and parking sensors
> Ford Puma ST-Line - Sporty-looking model with eye-catching design tweaks and more standard equipment
> Ford Puma ST - Performance model with 170hp and 200hp engine options
Ford Puma history
Puma was initially the name given to a small coupé sold between 1997 and 2001, but the name was revived for this stylish crossover model in 2019.
> Ford Puma crossover (2019) - There has only been one version of the Ford Puma crossover so far
A quick look at a Ford Puma for sale will reveal a nearly identical interior to the favourite Ford Fiesta, both showing off a modern look.
The entry-level Titanium model trim comes well equipped with Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system, an eight-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a DAB radio, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
ST-Line models get all this plus a large 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, exterior body kit, sports suspension and a leather steering wheel.
Range-topping Vignale models get everything you’d expect to find in a modern car, and that includes a heated steering wheel and seats, front parking sensors and keyless entry.
The Puma’s boot measures in at 456 litres, which is decent for its class, but where it really shines is underneath.
This is because Ford has been rather clever and fitted a 68-litre underfloor storage area where you can store muddy boots or fill with ice to act as a cool box.
Don’t worry about any water, though – Ford has thought of this and fitted a drainage plug.
You can see the full range of features in each model by checking our current used Ford Puma models.
Being so closely related to the Fiesta, a used Ford Puma is definitely reliable. It offers tried-and-tested parts – such as its engine, chassis and interior – so you know exactly what you're getting.

It also sits in lower insurance groups, and replacement parts should be readily available and affordable.
A used Ford Puma is a great option for small families who may have outgrown their hatchback and want something with a little bit more space and improved visibility over the road.
