What types of used Audi A4 cars are there?

An Audi A4 is a mid-sized saloon model with four doors and a traditional saloon-style boot opening, which hides a large 460-litre boot (around 100 litres more than a typical family hatchback). 

Compared with some other saloon cars, it offers a noticeable step up in quality, but it can also be significantly cheaper than many of its key rivals, making it a sensible purchase. 

The latest fifth-generation B9 model, introduced in 2016, comes with a range of efficient petrol and diesel engine options, and a 2019 update saw the introduction of fuel-saving mild hybrid technology. 

Trims include the Sport, S-Line and Vorsprung.

What features does the Audi A4 have?

When it first went on sale in 2015, the Audi A4 came with xenon headlights, three-zone climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system as standard. 

Higher-spec models added more car tech, like LED headlights and a larger infotainment system. 

Fast-forward to today, and the latest models come with an even bigger screen plus a digital instrument cluster. 

Other equipment includes all-round parking sensors, a reversing camera, cruise control and keyless start. 

Is the Audi A4 reliable?

Audi has had many years to perfect the A4, and it also uses many of the same engines available in other models. The need to produce fewer parts helps improve overall quality. 

Audi is also a Volkswagen Group brand, so benefits from the backing of other companies such as VW and even Porsche. 

How much does the Audi A4 cost to run?

Although it’s a reasonably sized saloon, its petrol and diesel engines are very efficient, and newer models get mild hybrid tech to reduce emissions (and your car tax bill). 

In most cases, it also belongs to lower insurance groups than other premium models.

Most buyers after an Audi A4 for sale will either be company car drivers or families, because it’s a comfortable and spacious model that’s both economical and reliable.
