What is the Audi A4 Sport?

An Audi A4 Sport is a popular mid-spec model that comes with enough comforts to keep the family happy, and while it looks great, it’s still an affordable option that you can buy on any budget.

Because Sport has been a trim level on the A4 since before the millennium, you’ll have two decades worth of models to pick from, so there should be a used Audi A4 Sport to match every buyer.

What are the Audi A4 Sport specs?

In the case of the latest models, there are four 2.0-litre engines to pick from. The 150hp 35 TFSI and the 204hp 40 TFSI petrols, as well as the 163hp 35 TDI and the 204hp 40 TDI diesels.

Other, slightly older engines include the 136hp 2.0-litre diesel (badged 30 TDI), a 190hp 2.0-litre diesel, and a 190hp 2.0-litre petrol. A rarer 252hp 2.0-litre petrol is also an option.

Those who like the extra torque of a diesel engine will enjoy the 218hp 3.0-litre V6 option, which should still be able to get around 40mpg on a longer trip.

If you’ve got your eye on a newer model, then you could expect things like LED headlights, three-zone climate control, interior ambient lighting, cruise control, keyless go, all-around parking sensors and a reversing camera.

They also come with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a second 12.3-inch display behind the steering wheel that shows information like maps as well as your speed information.

Depending on the model year you go for, you might see some changes like xenon headlights, a more conventional instrument cluster, and a lack of front parking sensors, so be sure to check any individual listing.

Where the A4 Sport sits in the Audi range

When Sport was introduced, it stood in the middle of the range and offered a generous upgrade over cheaper entry-level SE and Technik models, but Audi has stopped selling these, so there’s no bad pick when you’re considering newer versions.
