About the Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 was introduced as the smallest Audi SUV in 2011 and stayed the baby of the lineup until the compact Q2 arrived in 2017.

Now, it’s the middle SUV, and it comes with a much wider range of trim and engine options. 

It’s one of Audi’s most popular models because it’s big enough for a family of five but is less expensive than the bigger and more powerful Q5.  

While it’s not quite as glitzy as the Q5, Q7 or Q8, it’s very classy and a great way to get your hands on the Audi prestige without shelling out loads of money. 

The second generation launched in 2022, and it moved closer to the range-topping Audi models in terms of luxury, with an updated and grander interior.

What are the Audi Q3 features?

Audi is known for its subtle but stylish looks (that legendary hexagonal grille) as well as understated but comfy and luxe interiors.

The Q3 is no exception, combining a practical, roomy cabin and generous boot space with a hi-tech interior.

Expect a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster for the driver as well as a central 10-inch touchscreen, with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, dual climate control, and USB-C ports.

The higher up the trims you go and the sportier the model, the more equipment and styling you get, such as bigger alloys and leather interiors.

The boot is a very healthy 530 litres, and if you move the back seats to their forward-most position there’s an extra 145 litres to utilise. That’s bigger than similar cars like the Volvo XC40 or the BMW X1.

The latest version of the Q3 is also slightly larger than its predecessor, so the back passengers get more legroom and headroom while the front passengers can also enjoy the extra width.  

What is the Audi Q3 like to drive?

The Audi Q3 is a great car to drive – it's responsive, quick and nimble.  

It’s versatile, being at ease as much on country roads as the fast lane of the motorway because the grip is exceptional.

If you opt for Audi’s quattro four-wheel-drive system, your Q3 will be off-road-ready as well as urban-chic.  

The Q3 is cushioned and comfy, with soft suspension, while you can add various dynamic drive packages too.

The range of engines includes plug-in hybrid options, so it can be economical to drive, returning excellent mpg figures. 

The entry-level engine is a 1.5-litre turbo model that offers front-wheel-drive capability and is ideal for everyday use.  

You can turn it up a bit and opt for the 40 TDI with a 2.0-litre engine, which will feel nippier and more powerful on the roads.
