What types of used Lexus GS cars are there?

The Lexus GS arrived in 1994 as a luxury performance saloon that would slot between the IS and LS models.

Newer variants can be had in Executive Edition, Luxury, F Sport and Premier – each adding increased luxury and comfort – with the F Sport being the performance model.

What features does the Lexus GS have?

The good thing about Lexus is that it offers splendid standard equipment to keep up with the offerings from BMW and Mercedes.

Inside, you get a large 12.9-inch infotainment screen that’s accessed via a controller sitting between the driver and passenger.

Other standard features include power-adjustable front seats, an inbuilt sat-nav, a 12-speaker sound system, and smartphone connectivity.

There are four different trim levels on offer: Executive Edition; Luxury; F Sport; and Premier.

These offer varying levels of performance and comfort, but we’d even say the so-called ‘base-spec’, which is very well-equipped, is perfect for most people.

Choose the F Sport, however, if you want to benefit from increased performance and some more aggressive looks.

As for boot space, regular GS models get 451 litres, but choose a GS F model and this grows to 482 litres.

Is the Lexus GS reliable?

The most fuel-efficient hybrid is the GS 300h, which returns around 64mpg, but the GS 450h is also a great option if you want to visit the petrol station less frequently.

If speed and power are more your thing, then the GS F Sport is the one to have. This is powered by a massive naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine that not only sounds good but also produces 471hp and 391 lb-ft of torque.

It closely rivals the Audi RS6, BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG in the worldwide non-American muscle car game.

Depending on the model you have, insurance costs will vary. Sitting between insurance groups 26 and 48, the costs aren’t too bad, but they will be much higher for the F Sport model.
