Renault is a French car manufacturer that's been around since 1898, making it one of the oldest current car brands. It offers a wide range of models in the UK including superminis, hatchbacks, SUVs and electric vehicles. 

History of Renault

Renault was founded in 1898 by three brothers in France. They quickly made a name for themselves while motor racing, and ended up making cars of their own. 

By the 1970s, Renault as we know it was in full swing, producing models such as the 2CV, Renault 4 and Renault 5.  

Despite many of its rivals being bought by other companies, Renault remains on its own two feet – with significant help from the French government, which has a huge benefit.

Its cars are known for their stylish designs, comfortable interiors and innovative features.  

Some of these include Renault’s R-LINK 2 infotainment system with a 3D sat-nav, DAB radio and Bluetooth as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.  

Another standout feature is the driving mode selector – a system that allows you to choose from different driving modes, such as Eco and Sport.  

Used Renault cars are generally considered to be safe, with most models receiving a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.  

This is thanks to a suite of safety features including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.  

However, it's important to note that the safety rating of a car can vary depending on the model and the trim level.
