Start nowThe Jaguar F-PACE was launched in 2016 and was immediately praised for being a brilliant mix of racing sports car and big, functional SUV for family-focused life.
There have been two generations so far, with a revamp of the 2016 model launched for 2022. This refresh includes an updated interior and new exterior styling, as well as the launch of the plug-in hybrid engine.
A lot of the F-PACE's popularity is due to it being sporty in the true sense of the word – it's unbelievably fun to drive, with the kind of grip, handling and pace you want from many 'sporty' SUVs but don’t always get.
There are a few Jaguar F-PACE models on offer, including the flashy Prestige and R-Sport trim levels, plus automatic and manual models to pick from.

The Jaguar F-PACE has a luxe, sumptuous interior filled with tech.
The SE trim and above comes with Jaguar’s Interactive Driver Display – digital dials on a 12.3-inch screen that displays the sat-nav and car information.
The main screen is an 11.4-inch display split into three sections for navigation, media and phone and features Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro setup, even on the entry-level F-PACE trim.
Expect wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and insanely fast load times. Interior quality is impressive too – leather as standard, an adjustable steering wheel and eight-way adjustable seats. Rear passengers have plenty of space, even if you’re over six feet.
For more tech, go for the SE or HSE trims on the R-Dynamic model (the sporty one), and you’ll benefit from keyless entry, an electric tailgate, a Meridian sound system and 16-watt heated and cooled Windsor leather front seats.
JLR has had a rough history of unreliability, with some of its older models suffering greatly when compared to German and Japanese rivals.
Nowadays, things have improved, and the F-PACE is a prime example of a car that’s easy to live with and doesn’t require too much attention.
Like with all cars, if you ensure they’re regularly serviced, then this shouldn’t be a problem.
Where the F-PACE really shines is with regard to safety. Following its most recent Euro NCAP safety test in 2017, it scored a full five stars, offering incredibly high occupant safety.
In a crowded SUV market, a used Jaguar F-PACE is an underrated gem. It drives like a rear-wheel car and there’s no body roll in the corners, so you can fling it around if you want to.
The Jaguar F-PACE is incredibly comfortable and superbly practical. The whole family will feel cosseted doing hundreds of miles down the motorway because it’s quiet and smooth, and the finish inside is top-quality.
Performance is where the F-PACE shines – all engines are quick, and – because of mild hybrid technology – efficient too.
The P400 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine petrol engine does 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds, so it’s quick as well as comfortable.
The P400e plug-in hybrid is even quicker, with 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds thanks to that electric motor, making it ideal for feeling the power while preserving fuel.
The battery range for the plug-in hybrid model is 33 miles and it has a charging time of 0-80% in 30 minutes.
For maximum fuel efficiency, this is your best bet because you’re looking at returns of 128.4 mpg.
You should buy a used Jaguar F-PACE if you have a family or want an SUV to make the most of its large amounts of space.
But aside from that, it’s also one of the most comfortable cars in its class, with impressive handling and plenty of grunt.
It rivals the Audi Q5 and Q7, the Mercedes-Benz GLC or the BMW X3 as a premium, luxury SUV, and is a top-tier option for the style-conscious family who wants practicality and prestige.
The cost of a used Jaguar F-PACE on finance will depend on the model you choose and the type of finance you pick.
You can use our finance calculator to get a quote and see if the F-PACE fits your budget.
Currently, you can only buy mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid Jaguar F-PACE models, but Jaguar is going fully electric in 2025, so expect a fully electric model then, if not before.
The Jaguar F-PACE is four-wheel drive, so it’s great for off-road excursions.
While the Jaguar F-PACE only seats five people, there’s plenty of room for tall adults in the back and for families.
