What types of used BMW 4 Series cars are there?

The BMW 4 Series sits in a strong position in the car market because it fills the gap between a sporty weekend car and an everyday luxury commuter.    

It's available in both coupé and convertible forms and comes with some great interior and exterior features as standard.    

You can also consider the separate 4 Series Gran Coupé, which is a five-door model that’s also available as an electric model, badged i4. 

When it comes to engines, the 4 Series is available with both petrol and diesel options, all of which are powerful and offer great reliability. 

Available trim levels include Sport, M Sport and M440i.

What features does the BMW 4 Series have?

On sale for more than a decade, kit varies, but as a guide, the latest models get LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors and cruise control. 

They also get a digital instrument cluster plus an updated version of iDrive, the company’s highly acclaimed infotainment system. 

Older post-facelift models come with similar levels of equipment, but look out for the upgraded Professional Media infotainment system, sold as an optional extra. 

The coupé model has a boot big enough to rival most hachbacks, but watch out for convertible models, because the roof eats into the available space somewhat.
