TT
A used TT is the obvious sports car option for so many people – it stands out.
On the used market, the TT is very competitively priced, which makes it one of the most attractive options out there for first-time sports car buyers and car enthusiasts alike.
The TT’s main rivals are the BMW M2, Porsche Cayman, Jaguar F-Type, and Mazda MX-5. All of these are excellent in their own right, but when it comes to tight British roads and living with one on a daily basis, very few beat the TT – and it has four seats.
This quick little car is available with four-wheel drive, an automatic or manual gearbox, all the latest tech, and superb handling.
There are also a huge range of trims to choose from, even if you’re opting for a used TT model, like the sporty S Line and the luxe Black Edition.
Inside is where the TT really shines, because it's got one of the best interiors in its class. Everything is really well put-together and well-placed throughout the cabin.
As with all other used Audi models, there are so many different options available, but no matter which trim level you opt for, you won’t be disappointed.
Kit options include heated leather seats, a Bang and Olufsen sound system, a multifunction steering wheel, a 12.3-inch virtual driver’s cockpit as standard, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Now, as for storage space, you’d expect there to be next to none with this being a sports car – but in actual fact, there's plenty. The boot of the TT measures 305 litres, which is just slightly smaller than that of the VW Golf.
Being a sports car, you won’t find any diesel engine options here, but there is the choice of a couple of petrol engines.
Both units are based on the same 2.0-litre engine. Entry-level cars produce 197hp and can return up to 46mpg, according to Audi.
The next step up is an engine that produces 245hp, and – like the previous – is available with either a manual or automatic gearbox.
Unlike the entry-level car, however, it's available with Audi’s all-wheel-drive quattro system. This is ideal if you want to feel more grip on the roads.
Sitting at the top of the range are the TTS and TT RS models, powered by 306hp and 400hp engines respectively.
These are hugely fast and powerful and rival sports cars such as the Porsche Cayman S and Alpine A110.
If you really want to feel the meaning of 'sports car', these are the ones to pick.
Used TT models are available on finance, but the costs will depend on the model you choose and the type of finance you pick.
Being German and an Audi, even a used TT shouldn’t give you issues with reliability.
Thanks to its sublime build quality and a great selection of strong and reliable engines, there's no reason why you should have any doubts about your TT.
The ‘TT’ part of the name stands for ‘Tourist Trophy’ and is named after the famous Isle of Man TT motorcycle race.
All TT models come with four seats, which is partly what makes it so practical.
We would say the TT is a very good car to drive – it offers excellent performance while still giving you the confidence to push the car harder thanks to its quattro all-wheel-drive system and trusty gearbox.
