Porsche is one of the leading car manufacturers when it comes to performance and bang for your buck. They’re incredibly well-built, offer excellent value for money and the engineers manage to defy physics with a rear-engined sports car. 

Some of the best features that Porsche offers includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, various selectable drive modes, lane keep assist, lane change assist, a large panoramic sunroof and an upgraded Bose or Burmester sound system. 

If you want a more sports car-feel then you can also have a Sport Chrono clock, larger and more powerful carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive sports seats and a manual gearbox on some models. This makes the driving experience more engaging, but both the manual and PDK automatic ‘boxes work perfectly with the engines on offer. 

Being German – and more importantly, being Porsche – these cars are incredibly reliable. They use tried-and-tested parts across the board and include engines that have been developed over many years to help perfect the formula. 

The same goes for safety, which is very respectable. Its most recent Euro NCAP safety test results show a full five stars for the models rated, indicating the brand’s incredible attention to detail. This is thanks to safety features such as anti-lock braking, stability control, airbags, ISOFIX child seat points and adaptive cruise control. 

With these being luxury sports cars, running costs aren’t going to be as affordable as they would be with a Ford Focus or VW Golf, but they aren’t as horrendous as some. In fact, Porsches are very fuel-efficient on the whole, which makes them excellent driving companions on longer road trips across the UK or into Europe.
