The 208 first appeared on the market in 2012, replacing the 207. It was a worthy replacement too, as the 208 is a seriously impressive small car that ticks boxes across the board.   

Now available in the e-208 form for a brilliant fully-electric offering, there are a few trims to pick between, and they all get their own exciting touches and features.   

It’s a step up from the 207 model following a redesign – it now feels sportier and sleeker in a way that would be expected from models at a much higher price point.   

A used 208 will also bag you that reliable and value for money reputation that comes with Peugeot models.  

You can get an automatic 208 or a manual, plus there’s a huge range of trims that include the sporty GT models.

What features does the Peugeot 208 have?

The entry-level 208 trim is the brilliant Active Premium+, and will get you features like a seven-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus rear parking sensors. It’s well kitted-out for the baseline option.  

The mid-entry model is the Allure Premium+, securing all the features of the standard models plus sat-nav, reversing camera, and a digital instrument display with 3D graphics.  

The 208 GT models top the range and include extras such as a larger 10-inch touchscreen with connected sat-nav plus TomTom traffic updates.

There are some handy driver aids that you’ll be grateful for like Peugeot drive assist with lane positioning and road sign recognition, and semi-auto park assist that will take care of your steering to manoeuvre you into gaps with ease.   

What's the Peugeot 208 like to drive? 

Out on the road, the 208 is a joy to drive. Its small size means it’s easy to manoeuvre, and features like Peugeot drive assist are very welcome.   

You’ll get a choice of a couple of engines, including the fully-electric e-208, which has a claimed range of up to 225 miles on a full charge, making for an efficient drive.   

There are also petrol and diesel models on offer – both providing impressive fuel economy. Depending on the diesel model, statistics claim you’ll get between 60.8-73.6mpg. This is great if you plan on doing longer journeys.  

It’s also really sleek and modern in appearance, and has a sporty look that will definitely turn heads when you’re out on the road.
