Start nowThe Mercedes-Benz GLC launched in 2016 and kicked off the coupé SUV trend. It arrived with a design usually seen on smaller cars and intrigued the eyes – and wallets – of the brand’s customers.
A used GLC is available with a wide range of engines, from the smallest 2.0-litre turbocharged hybrid unit that produces a combined 316hp to the largest GLC 63 model, which is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine.
Mercedes aims the GLC at both families and couples because of its practicality and luxurious interior. It almost makes you wonder why a bigger SUV is needed at all – especially if you don’t need all the extra space.
Available trims include the Sport, AMG-Line, AMG, Night Edition and Urban Edition.

The Mercedes GLC’s main party piece is its interior, and it isn’t hard to see why. Like all modern Mercedes models, the GLC features an incredibly luxurious cabin that wouldn't look out of place in a car twice the price.
Standard used GLC models come with all the usual bells and whistles you’d expect from a car of its class, including a fantastic infotainment system that's standard across the range.
Optional extras include a Burmester sound system, a larger touchscreen and sat-nav – among many others. Models produced from 2019 onwards also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As for size, the GLC offers almost identical interior space to its BMW X3 rival, giving rear-seat passengers plenty of room. The boot measures in at an impressive 500 litres, which grows to 1,600 litres with the rear seats down.
All used GLC cars or sale also get a powered tailgate to assist you when trying to load the car after a big food shop.

Mercedes praises itself for its reliable vehicles. No matter which model you buy, you're getting a dependable car you can drive every single day, and the GLC is no different.
A used GLC is also a safe bet for families, scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP safety test in 2022 where it showed off its vast number of onboard safety features.
Mercedes’ engine range can be confusing because there are lots of different numbers and letters, so we will try and make it a little more faff-free.
The GLC 250 – which is the entry-level petrol engine – has plenty of power for those just wanting to go around town, but if you want to do longer journeys on a more regular basis, we’d suggest the larger GLC 300d diesel engine.
The GLC is also available with a 2.0-litre hybrid engine that produces between 306hp and 319hp depending on the spec. This is a great option for those who drive in and around cities often because the fully electric mode is capable of up to 27 miles on one charge.
Sitting at the very top of the range is the frankly monstrous Mercedes-AMG GLC 63, which is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 510hp. This allows it to get from 0-62mph in a staggering 3.8 seconds, challenging most sports cars today.
You should buy a used Mercedes GLC if you need one of the best family cars money can buy without compromising on comfort, luxury and efficiency.
The GLC sits pretty high up when compared to its rivals, which include the Volvo XC60, Audi Q5 and BMW X3. With the GLC, you know you’re getting that high-quality Mercedes manufacturing.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC coupé distinguishes itself with a sleek, sloping roofline and coupé-inspired styling.
This design combines sportiness with the versatility of an SUV, offering a unique and dynamic presence on the road.
Mercedes' MBUX infotainment system gets a responsive touchscreen, voice control, sat-nav with augmented reality, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and customisation options.
The GLC coupé's sloping roofline in comparison to the standard GLC may slightly reduce rear-seat headroom, but it doesn't significantly affect overall seating comfort.
However, the coupé design does give you a slightly smaller boot space due to the sloping roof.
The 4MATIC all-wheel drive system in the GLC is ideal for challenging driving conditions, such as snow, rain or uneven terrain.
It provides enhanced traction and stability by distributing power to all four wheels, ensuring optimal performance and safety in various road conditions.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a compact luxury SUV, while the GLE is a midsize SUV. The GLE offers more room, power and features, making it larger and more premium than the GLC.
