The latest Mondeos really do go all out in terms of tech. The FordPass app is an impressive feature that lets you remotely access your vehicle and lock it from your phone.  

The Ford SYNC 3 system is available in some models and offers a hands-free way to access your phone, music and navigation using voice control. This system comes with an 8-inch colour touchscreen and offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.   

The tech is great, but practicality is just important, so it’s impressive that you’ll get five seats with a choice of four or five doors and a 383-403-litre boot. Most models also get Isofix car seat points, so you can travel with children safely and secure in the rear.

What is the Ford Mondeo like to drive?

There are a fair few Ford Mondeo variations on the market, and there are a number of engine types that go alongside.   

The entry-level offering is the 1.0-litre petrol model. It offers a claimed 55mpg fuel economy, and won’t feel sluggish in a way you might expect from a smaller engine in a large car. It’s comfortable on the road and will be well suited to families who value practicality.   

For a Ford Mondeo that feels as powerful as it does practical, the twin-turbo 210hp model is a great choice. It still offers an impressive 54.3mpg fuel economy, but feels nippy off the line and hits a claimed 0-62mph in just 8.1 seconds.

You’ll also get a choice for some hybrid power too, with an impressive regenerative battery that can grab up to 90% of its energy from braking and use that to recharge the battery. So technically, you’re recharging your car even when you’re on the move.
