What is the Ford Mondeo ST-Line Edition?

Ford uses the ST (Sports Technologies) name to denote its performance models, and ST-Line variants offer similar styling without the high running costs.

You can find a range of engine options available for the Mondeo ST-Line Edition, including petrols, diesels and even hybrids.

Besides being a good-looking car, the ST-Line Edition trim level also sits quite high up the ladder, so you’ll get plenty of useful equipment and car tech.

What are the Ford Mondeo ST-Line Edition specs?

Starting with diesel power, which is great for long-distance drivers, you can have a 2.0-litre unit with either 150hp or 190hp. The more powerful variant was also sold with optional four-wheel drive.

In the car’s later years on sale, there was also a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid with a 187hp output. It’s not so economical on longer trips but it's a good choice for town driving where the electric motor can take some of the strain.

For a period, there was also a petrol offering. It’s a 1.5-litre engine with 165hp and is a good middle ground for anyone thinking the hybrid may be out of reach.

Apart from the sporty styling overhaul, which includes some seriously attractive alloy wheels, ST-Line Edition versions of the Mondeo get part-leather seats and other high-quality finishes inside.

You’ll also get automatic lights and wipers with automatic high beams, a part-digital display behind the steering wheel, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control and a heated windscreen.

Other standard equipment across the range includes front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, an electric parking brake and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Where the Mondeo ST-Line Edition sits in the Ford range

The ST-Line Edition trim level was available in the car’s final years on sale when trim choices had been narrowed down.

Ford's ST-Line Edition was a high-spec model sitting above the well-equipped Titanium Edition car. Even the entry-level Zetec Edition model came with a lot of equipment.

There was also a Vignale version available with high levels of interior luxury, and it’s well worth considering because used models can be reasonably affordable.
