What is the Audi Q8 S line?

As well as sharing its mechanical parts with the Q7 – its seven-seater SUV sibling – an Audi Q8 also shares parts with other luxurious and fast SUVs, such as the Porsche Cayenne.

S line trim is the most desirable in the entire Audi range, because it combines the sporty looks of faster SQ8 and RSQ8 models with engine options that can be many times more economical.

You won’t have to look hard to find a used Audi Q8 S line, because as well as being a popular model, this was also the car’s cheapest model. That means there’s no bad pick in the entire Q8 range.

What are the Audi Q8 S line specs?

When the car first launched, it came with the 50 TDI engine option, which is a 286hp 3.0-litre V6 diesel with mild hybrid technology to keep an eye on emissions.

A less powerful 231hp V6 diesel, badged 45 TDI, and a 340hp 3.0-litre V6 petrol, badged 55 TFSI, later became available.

In 2020, Audi launched a plug-in hybrid version with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine. The 55 TFSI e model has 381hp and an electric-only range of up to around 30 miles. There was also a more powerful 462hp 60 TFSI e variant, but this wasn’t available for the S line trim.

Used Audi Q8 S line features and equipment

Being a flagship model for the company, the Audi Q8 S line comes with a lot of kit, including adaptive air suspension, dual-zone climate control and heated front seats.

The Q8 S line also features plenty of driver aids, like cruise control, keyless start and matrix LED headlights that adapt automatically to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

Inside, there’s a three-screen setup – one for the digital instrument cluster, another for the touchscreen infotainment system (which works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and another for controlling the cabin’s temperature.

Where the Q8 S line sits in the Audi range

S line is generally considered to be a high-spec trim level, but because the Q8 places an emphasis on luxury, it’s the cheapest trim level you can get.

When it launched, there were also high-spec Vorsprung variants, which added a lot of car tech.

After the 2020 mid-life facelift, a few other variants popped up, including Competiton and Competition Vorsprung, Black Edition and Launch Edition.
