What is the Audi Q7 S line?

When it comes to buying an Audi, S line models are high-spec variants that are designed to look sporty, but they also come with more equipment than standard models.

In the case of the used Audi Q7 S line, it’s meant to look like a performance SQ7 model but it comes with more economical engines to keep running costs down.

There have been S line variants of the Audi Q7 since the car was first introduced, so you’ll have no problem finding a model to suit your needs.

What are the Audi Q7 S line specs?

Most buyers tend to go for a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, which is surprisingly quick yet still reasonably economical for this size car. There are two variants – the 45 TDI and the 50 TDI have power outputs of 231hp and 286hp.

There’s a single 3.0-litre petrol engine available, badged 55 TFSI, but with 340hp, it won’t be as efficient as the diesel.

You also have the option of plug-in hybrid models – you can get a used Q7 S line with a petrol-powered 55 TFSI e powertrain, which has 381hp and an electric-only range of around 20-30 miles. Some earlier non-S line models came with a diesel plug-in hybrid option.

S line models can be recognised by the red badging around the car as well as large 20-inch alloy wheels, sporty bodykit, and tinted windows.

Other kit includes LED headlights, a powered boot lid, keyless entry, cruise control, four-zone climate control and a multi-screen setup that, depending on model year, comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, a second touchscreen for controlling climate control, and a digital instrument cluster.

Keep an eye out for used models with optional extras like a 360-degree parking camera, an upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated rear seats, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic sunroof.

Where the Q7 S line sits in the Audi range

S line is one of the most popular trim levels for the Q7 – it’s desirable, looks the part, but doesn’t cost too much more than lower-spec trims.

Entry-level SE and mid-spec Sport cars are still very well-equipped because this is a premium seven-seater SUV.

Aggressive-looking Black Edition and premium Vorsprung models sit above S line and are well worth looking into for an even more exclusive feel.
