Best nearly new cars for 2025

At cinch, we class a used car that’s less than one year old with fewer than 5,000 miles as 'nearly new' – and we have plenty in stock.

Of course, we make sure that all of our cars are the best quality, but we get why some are attracted to cars with the lowest miles and most recent registration plates.

For some, there’s nothing quite like driving a brand-new car, while for others, nearly-new cars are the thinking person’s way into the latest cars. If that sounds familiar, this article is for you.

Below, we run through the standout models that fall into that ‘nearly new’ bracket.

Each is the automotive equivalent of a spring chicken, yet thanks to being classed as used cars, they come with some decent savings over their original prices. Happy days.

Hyundai IONIQ 5

If you really want to see just how new ‘nearly-new’ can be, let us point you towards this Hyundai IONIQ 5.

Unlike many of its rivals, this Hyundai didn't exist five or even ten years ago. The IONIQ 5 came out in 2021 and instantly stole the hearts of so many people thanks to its boxy shape and LED brake lights that look like they're straight out of the 1980s.

Being an electric car, the IONIQ 5 is very quiet and efficient. Power comes from a 58kWh or a 78kWh battery that's good for up to 298 miles on a single charge.

Vauxhall Corsa

Vauxhall Corsa-e frontSince the death of the Ford Fiesta in 2023, the Vauxhall Corsa has seen an open gap in the market, and it's gone full steam ahead.

A nearly new Vauxhall Corsa not only offers great value for money but it's also a compact car that is ideal for city life, new drivers, elderly drivers and even small families – there isn't much it can't do.

Power comes from a 75hp, 100hp or 130hp petrol engine mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.

Ford Puma

Another bi-product of the Fiesta's demise is the Ford Puma that, despite only being around since 2019, has taken the hatchback's spot as the brand's flagship model.

What makes it stand out is that it's fun to drive, offering hatchback-like handling in a crossover SUV's body, creating the ultimate practicality package.

It also has a 456-litre boot, which puts it in strong stead against some of its rivals and all Fiesta competitors.

Peugeot e-208

Peugeot e-208 drivingWhile the petrol-powered 208 is good, we think a nearly new Peugeot e-208 is the one to have. Not only do you get a very respectable 250-mile range, but it's also packed full of tech and comfortable on longer journeys.

Its boot is a decent 311 litres, which is more than enough for a long weekend away, plus the rear seats fold down to create more should you need it.

Peugeot's intelligent charging system means you can top up the battery from 10-80% in just 30 minutes, thanks to its 100kW charging capabilities.

Mazda 2

Mazda 2 drivingSmall but mighty is a good way to describe the Mazda 2. It's the smallest car Mazda makes, which makes it perfect for new drivers and those after a supermini that's easy to park and live with.

Newer versions are available with one 1.5-litre engine with three different power outputs: 75hp, 90hp and 115hp, which give you plenty of options to pick the one that's right for you.

Its 255-litre boot is on the smaller side but it's wide enough to pack a decent amount of stuff into.

Citroën C3

A blue Citroen C3We love the way the Citroën C3 looks. It's a cute and approachable car that isn't afraid to stand out with its Airbump design on the doors that act as protection as much as they look cool.

Driving a C3 is a pleasure too thanks to its supple suspension, which handles our rougher roads with ease. Plus, its 1.2-litre petrol engine has more than enough poke.

There are lots of nifty storage solutions throughout the cabin, and there's 300 litres of boot space to play with too.

Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage frontThe Kia Sportage is one of the brand's oldest and most loved models, so there's no reason not to love it.

In many ways, the Sportage is to the SUV market what Aldi is to the supermarket market – it offers great value for money and is just as good. You can get one for as little as £10,000, offering incredible value for money.

Plus, with its 591-litre boot, it's the most practical car on this list.
