Grandland X
The Grandland X launched in 2017 and instantly became a very interesting proposition for many families across the country.
Not only did it arrive at a very affordable price, but it also offered good levels of comfort, lots of interior space and the raised driving position that has become ever so popular with the rise of the SUV.
All of this makes the Grandland X an ideal choice for a functional but enjoyable family car, and means you can enjoy that reliable Vauxhall manufacturing.
The Grandland X is available in a staggering 13 different trim levels ranging from the entry-level SE Premium all the way up to the range-topping Grandland X Ultimate Nav Hybrid4, which comes with everything from a premium stereo to a 360-degree camera system.
There’s no denying that the SUV market is a very competitive place, but the Grandland X fills the budget niche in the sector.
Other than its competitive price, the main draw to the Grandland X is the overall size and masses of interior space available.
It shares its underpinnings with the Peugeot 3008 SUV, but you wouldn’t know that from looking at it. The Grandland X features a functional yet simple interior design, saving you the fuss of having to learn about heaps of technology you'll probably never use.
The Grandland X isn’t short of tech, either. The entry-level SE Premium model comes with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
As you move up the trim levels, you are greeted with extra tech such as premium LED headlights, an auto park feature, a 360-degree camera to help manoeuvre the vehicle, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, sat-nav, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
You can see the full range of trims available in each model by take a look at our current used Vauxhall Grandland X models.
When it comes to engines, there is one petrol option, one diesel engine option, and a choice of two hybrid-assisted motors, one of which has four-wheel drive.
The 130hp 1.2-litre petrol engine is perfect for everyday use and remains smooth and enjoyable to drive.
The diesel engine option is a 1.5-litre unit that produces 130hp and offers improved fuel economy over the smaller petrol engine – perfect for savings on running costs.
However, if it’s economical driving you’re after, then you should consider the two hybrid options on offer. Both are connected to a 1.6-litre petrol engine but one hybrid motor produces a combined 225hp, whereas the other puts out 300hp.
The latter, known as the Hybrid4, benefits from four-wheel drive that allows it to get from 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds, meaning it is more capable off-road.
The cost of a used Grandland X on finance will depend on the model you pick, and the type of finance you choose.
You can use our finance calculator on the model pages to work out a deal that fits your budget.
The standard Grandland X does not have four-wheel drive, but the range-topping Ultimate Nav Hybrid4 comes with a hybrid system that drives all four wheels. This helps with rougher terrain and benefits from added traction on tarmac.
The Grandland X is a perfect SUV for those looking for a no-nonsense family vehicle with lots of interior space, functional controls, and a high driving position.
Depending on the model variant, the Grandland X is capable of towing between 1,100kg and 1,600kg.
The Grandland X has a 514-litre boot that can be increased to 1,652 litres when the rear seats are laid flat.
