Use our Help Me Choose tool to go from 1000s of cars to just a handful of recommendations — and cinch your search.
Start nowThere are loads of different seven-seater SUVs out there giving you a wide range of options when it comes to choosing one.
You can get more premium offerings such as a BMW SUV or a more budget-friendly car like a Ford SUV – there really are plenty of options.
Some you may wish to take off-road but others you may leave for road use only.
The world is full of seven-seat SUVs, but the UK and Europe never got as many as the American and Asian markets, simply because we don’t have big enough roads.
But some brands saw a gap in the market and made some especially for us. Some of these include:
> Audi Q7
You command a high driving position and added authority over the road when driving a seven-seater SUV.
They’re often very comfortable and always incredibly spacious, so getting the correct driving position is nice and easy.
Despite their size, many seven-seater SUVs offer responsive handling and smooth rides, thanks to refined suspension systems to keep all members of the family at ease.
Luxury models such as a Land Rover or Volvo add premium materials and even more technology.
This comes down to preference – which type of car will best suit your needs?
A petrol seven-seat SUV will be the go-to choice for most because you know where you stand with a petrol car. They’re efficient enough and are easy to live with and sometimes come with hybrid power too.
A diesel seven-seat SUV will be best reserved for those who regularly drive long distances. So, if you find yourself driving up and down the country most weeks, you should opt for one of these.
But if you can charge at home and want to save some money on fuel, a fully electric seven-seat SUV is the way to go. Plus, they’re incredibly silent.
You should buy a used seven-seater SUV for two reasons. The first is if you regularly need to carry around six other people, and the second is if you need the extra space.
If this is you, then you should definitely consider one.
If not but you still want a high-riding SUV, then a five-seat SUV may be better for you.
This depends on your budget, but for most people, we’d recommend something like a Kia Sorento.
This is a tough call, but we think the Peugeot 5008 (or e-5008) is a great option for most people.
This would probably be a BMW X7 or Hyundai Santa Fe.
It has to be the Skoda Kodiaq for its price and overall quality.
It’s hard to pick just one but we’d suggest the Skoda Kodiaq wins this one with its 53.3mpg rating in diesel form.
