What features does the SsangYong Tivoli have?

There are three different trim levels available for the SsangYong Tivoli: Ventura, Ultimate, and Ultimate Nav. 

The base model offers an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a rear-view camera, heated steering wheel and remote keyless start. 

Move up to the top-spec models and you get all that plus a larger nine-inch infotainment screen with a built-in sat-nav, tinted privacy glass, drive modes and automatic power folding door mirrors, among other things. 

Being a small SUV, you’d hope for a spacious boot, and the Tivoli does not disappoint. It offers a 423-litre boot that's larger than the more popular Nissan Juke’s 354-litre one. 

Is the SsangYong Tivoli reliable?

SsangYong – previously named KG Mobility until 1988 – is a South Korean car brand famed for offering strong reliability and long warranties for its customers.  

Speaking of which, all new SsangYong models all come with a massive five-year/150,000-mile warranty that can be extended and passed on to future owners, making a used Tivoli a very attractive proposition. 

Following its most recent Euro NCAP crash-testing in 2016, the Tivoli scored four out of five stars and is available with safety features such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), rear ISOFIX child seat points and lots of airbags. 

How much does the SsangYong Tivoli cost to run?

Up until recently, you could get the Tivoli with either a petrol or diesel engine, but models made from 2020 are available exclusively with one of two efficient petrol engine options. 

You can choose between a 1.2-litre three-cylinder or a 1.5-litre four-cylinder. Both engines offer more power and torque than the previous engines offered prior to 2020. 

If you do want a diesel, they do still exist on the used car market in the form of a 110hp 1.6-litre diesel engine that returns up to 65.7mpg, which is very impressive. 

You may be worried about insurance costs, but because the Tivoli sits between insurance groups 13 and 20, this shouldn’t be a huge expense either. It should be noted that these costs vary depending on factors such as the driver’s history, location etc. 

As for general maintenance, the Tivoli shouldn’t raise many major concerns because this is a brand that builds hardcore pickup trucks that are supposed to be indestructible.

If you’re in need of a small SUV that’s a little bit different, is cheap to run and is practical enough for a small family, then the Tivoli is the one for you.
