MG
ZS
Since the MG ZS first burst onto the family SUV scene back in 2017, it has achieved success. With a starting price not too dissimilar to the comparatively small Ford Fiesta, the ZS was a hit among those who wanted a bigger car but didn’t fancy the price tag of one.
The Chinese-built ZS is a good all-rounder and is available in plenty of guises, meaning there is a spec for everyone out there.
There is even a fully electric model called the ZS EV, which the brand launched a few years after the initial release.
The MG ZS comes with a five-door layout and is available in a selection of different specs. The entry-level Explore model comes with features such as LED headlights, remote locking, cruise control, and a radio with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
The next step up is the ZS Excite, which features alloy wheels, front fog lamps, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, automated air conditioning, and a one-touch electric driver’s window.
MG’s top-spec model features all the above plus an IGO sat-nav and a faux leather interior.
The MG ZS is available with two different petrol engine options. The engine offered on the entry-level model is a 1.5-litre engine that produces 106hp, and powering the higher-end variant is a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 111hp.
Of the two, the smaller engine seen in the top spec models is the favourite, thanks to its turbocharger.
The MG ZS is a well-built car with plenty of great features inside the cabin. At its price point, it's very appealing to those looking for an affordable SUV
For the larger 1.5-litre petrol engine, the MG ZS has a claimed range of 49.6mpg, dropping to just 44.9mpg with the 1.0-litre turbocharged unit.
The cost of an MG ZS will depend on the model you pick, as prices vary across the range and depending on the models we have in stock at the time. Each one is available on a finance deal if you’d like to spread the cost.
Despite MG being a British carmaker, the ZS is actually built in China. This is because MG is owned by Chinese company SAIC Motor, which is the overall owner of the British brand.
