What is the Audi Q5 S line?

Audi’s popular S and RS models have been firm favourites among driving enthusiasts for years, but they’re generally sold with big engines and can be pricey to run.

A second-hand Audi Q5 S line offers the style of one of these performance models but the affordability of a regular Q5, with a choice of economical petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid power options.

Because S line has been an option on the Q5 ever since it was launched, you can find cheaper and newer options to suit any budget.

What are the Audi Q5 S line specs?

These days, there are only three options to pick from – a 204hp 2.0-litre diesel (badged 40 TDI) and a 265hp 2.0-litre petrol (badged 45 TFSI).

The third is a 299hp plug-in hybrid, which Audi reckons will do nearly 40 miles between charges.

Previously, there were 3.0-litre V6 diesels with as much as 286hp, but Audi stopped offering these when it phased out the first-generation Q5 in favour of more efficient options.

S line models come with luxuries like a powered boot lid, all-round parking sensors, heated seats and dual-zone climate control.

The infotainment system is also easy to use and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Depending on the model year, you can also expect LED headlights and a large digital display behind the steering wheel.

Where the Q3 S line sits in the Audi range

S line is considered to be a high trim level, but it’s reasonably affordable compared with other Audi trim levels, making it a popular choice.

Above it are Black Edition and Vorsprung models, and there are also well-equipped entry-level Sport models to consider.

The performance SQ5 looks like an exaggerated S line model, with an even more aggressive look, but it also comes with a very powerful engine.
