JAECOO warranty

Understanding the JAECOO warranty is probably on your to-do list if you’re considering this brand – especially for the first time.

JAECOO cars are pretty fresh on UK roads and the great value models are gaining plenty of attention.

First reviews from JAECOO buyers are looking to be positive, but if you’re buying from an unfamiliar brand, warranties can help settle the nerves.

Brand-new cars come with a manufacturer warranty that usually covers about three years or 30,000 miles on average. The industry-average warranty lasts three years (generally with a 60,000-mile limit), but some manufacturers, like Toyota, go up to as much as 10 years or 100,000 miles.

These warranties are often transferable to a new owner if you’re buying a used car.

JAECOO warranty in detail

Standard manufacturer warranty

The standard JAECOO warranty for a car that hasn’t been used as a service vehicle is seven years or 100,000 miles.

That’s actually longer than the standard three-year or 60,000-mile warranty that Audi, BMW and Volkswagen offer.

Body warranty

The JAECOO warranty includes 12 years of coverage for sheets of body metal that have been perforated with rust.

This is defined as a physical hole through a panel due to corrosion, caused by a manufacturing defect.

Keep an eye out for chips to the paint or protective coating and get these fixed quickly to avoid rust setting in.

Paint warranty

This part of your warranty covers paint issues within the first three years of the vehicle’s life that are caused, by manufacturer, material or workmanship.

This includes cracking, blistering, discolouration and finish issues within that time frame.

Battery warranty

The battery is an area of concern for many new EV drivers, so JAECOO’s eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty is ideal for peace of mind.

You’ll also get a two-year or unlimited-mile warranty on 12V batteries, and a one year or 20,000-mile warranty of your vehicle remote key battery.

These warranties are shorter for service vehicles, so keep that in mind.

Tyre warranty

The original tyres fitted to the car from registration get a two-year or 10,000-mile warranty from JAECOO.

This warranty doesn’t cover issues from wear and tear, punctures, or any other damage not covered under the warranty.

JAECOO warranty duration and limits

There are areas of the vehicle that have limited cover – meaning they only get 3 months or 1,000 miles of warranty when the defect is a result of manufacturing, material or workmanship.

This includes things like bulbs, wiper blades and spark plugs.

You can read the full list in the JAECOO warranty terms and conditions.

You’ll need to ensure that any issues are reported within the warranty period specific to the issue. Keep in mind that not all areas have the same duration or mileage limit, so you’ll need to be vigilant and read the terms and conditions carefully.

JAECOO warranty exclusions

You’ll need to get your JAECOO serviced in line with the manufacturer’s recommended servicing schedule.

Some vehicle issues are a result of natural wear and tear, or even misuse. These issues won’t be covered by your warranty, as your coverage only includes defects that are a manufacturer, material or workmanship problem.

Your JAECOO is also not covered for things like wheel alignment and balancing, or damage from neglect or misuse.

JAECOO extended warranty options

The JAECOO seven-year warranty is enough to see most vehicles through their period of ownership, and many car dealers offer extra car warranties that you can add on when purchasing a JAECOO pre-owned.

JAECOO offers a servicing plan that complements the warranty. You’ll need to keep up with a servicing schedule to ensure your warranty is valid. A servicing plan would make this much easier and spreads the cost of servicing.

JAECOO doesn’t currently offer the option to extend the manufacturer warranty, as of January 2026. That’s likely because its vehicles aren’t old enough to surpass the warranty limit yet.

JAECOO warranty vs competitors

JAECOO’s warranty measures up against its competitors and is plenty longer than many of the premium brands we’re used to.

BYD offers a six-year/93,750-mile warranty, while Chery offers seven-years/100,000 miles.

A more familiar option might be Kia, also offering a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty.
