What is the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line?

R-Line is a trim level available on the Tiguan Allspace model that brings more standard equipment and a stylish makeover.

Being an Allspace model, this version of the Tiguan has two extra seats in the boot floor, which are good for carrying kids. A Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace also has more boot space than a standard Tiguan.

There should be no shortage of used Tiguan Allspace R-Line cars for sale because this version has been on sale since the Tiguan Allspace was launched. It’s also a highly desirable model, so Volkswagen has sold plenty and the used market is filled with them.

What are the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line specs?

Engine choice for the Tiguan Allspace R-Line is pretty impressive, but many buyers will opt for one of the 2.0-litre diesels because they’re the most efficient. There are 150hp and 200hp variants.

There’s also a 150hp 1.5-litre petrol that’s good for cruising around town, and a more powerful 2.0-litre petrol engine with 190hp or 245hp depending on configuration.

There are no plug-in hybrid options like the five-seater Tiguan, but you still get a pick of front- and four-wheel drive, plus manuals and smooth-shifting dual-clutch automatics.

Used Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line features and equipment

Compared with lower-spec Tiguan Allspace space, R-Line models get specially designed sporty-looking bumpers, a rear spoiler and striking alloy wheels.

They also get LED headlights with a lightbar running across the grille, a powered boot lid, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control and even a self-parking system.

Inside, there are heated front seats, three-zone climate control, a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Where the Tiguan Allspace R-Line sits in the Volkswagen range

R-Line is the most expensive trim variant you can get for the Tiguan Allspace except for the R-Line Tech, which is no longer available new.

Currently, the lineup consists of mid-spec Elegance and entry-level Life, which are both well-equipped and excellent value for money.

Previously, there were SE Nav, Match and SEL models – they’re slightly older so come with less car tech, but they still benefit from Volkswagen’s high-quality manufacturing.
