The Suzuki Swace is a rebadged Toyota Corolla Touring Sports, and while sometimes this can seem lazy, it makes absolute sense in this occasion. 

This is because the Corolla is already a refined product, so by using this as a base, Suzuki can focus on everything else and leave the powertrain as is – what we think is the best part of the Toyota. 

Inside, it’s similar too but with a distinct Suzuki twist, and yet with still plenty of features to discover.

Suzuki Swace history 

Suzuki introduced the Swace in 2020, sharing almost all of its features with the Corolla. It’s a hybrid estate and is only available for the European market. Sorry America, you don’t get this one.

What features does the Suzuki Swace have?

A used Suzuki Swace is a well-equipped car from the get-go. Not only do you get a competent hybrid system, but also a selection of superb tech. 

There are just two trims on offer, but even the more basic Motion model comes with automatic headlights with automatic full-beam assist, an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a selection of added safety kit. 

Upgrade to the top-spec Ultra and this unlocks a leather interior, keyless entry, front and rear parking sensors and uprated LED headlights. 

Is the Suzuki Swace reliable?

Being based on its Toyota counterpart, the Swace is one of the most dependable estate cars on the market. 

Every new Suzuki comes with a standard three-year/60,000-mile warranty which can be passed onto subsequent owners. 

It's also safe too, with its Toyota counterpart scoring a full five stars at its most recent Euro NCAP safety test. 

How much does the Suzuki Swace cost to run?

As estate cars go, the Suzuki Swace is up there with some of the most efficient.  

Power comes from a Toyota-derived 1.8-litre petrol engine with self-charging hybrid assistance. 

Unlike your standard plug-in hybrid system, a full self-charging one never needs to be plugged in, and instead is charged by the engine. 

This setup helps it to achieve a claimed fuel efficiency of 62.7mpg. We don’t expect this to be much less in the real world, but it will depend on your driving style. 

Who is the Suzuki Swace suitable for?

A used Suzuki Swift is best suited to frugal family life.  

If you need extra practicality and don’t want to compromise on fuel efficiency, one of these will fit you down to the ground.
