What types of used Peugeot 408 cars are there?
The Peugeot 408 is only available in one body style. Technically it’s a hatchback, but it looks long like a saloon and has some of the chunky styling you’d expect from a crossover or SUV.
Popular Peugeot 408 trims
There are only two trim levels available for the 408 – a standard variant or a more aggressive-looking model.

Still a pretty new model, the Peugeot 408 went on sale in 2022, around the same time as its cousin, the Citroen C5 X.

What features does the Peugeot 408 have?
All Peugeot 408 models get a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment display. Below the display is a narrower screen with space for five customisable shortcut buttons, plus a few extra physical toggle buttons beneath that.
Dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and automatic LED headlights are available across the board. You’ll need to go for a higher spec to add front parking sensors to the standard-fit rear sensors, or to go from a reversing camera to a full 360-degree array.
Is the Peugeot 408 reliable?
Don’t be discouraged that the 408 is so new – it’s likely to be highly reliable because it shares parts with Peugeot, Citroen, DS and Vauxhall models.
How much does the Peugeot 408 cost to run?
We really like the 1.2-litre petrol engine for its blend of punchy performance and fuel economy, but go for the plug-in hybrids to save on fuel. They can do around 30 miles on electric power between charges.
Thankfully, other costs like insurance and consumables are pretty cheap for the Peugeot 408.
Who is the Peugeot 408 suitable for?
