MINI offered the Clubman in a number of different trim levels, including the brilliant Clubman Cooper Sport offerings and a choice of Classic or Exclusive trim levels.

MINI Clubman history 

Sadly, MINI closed the doors on the Clubman in February 2024, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a great used one.

What features does the MINI Clubman have?

The Clubman is filled with features and has that recognisable quirky MINI interior.     

It features an impressive infotainment system, with an optional 6.5-inch screen displaying all the driving information and entertainment options you need.     

As standard, the latest Clubman models get a built-in sat-nav with real-time traffic information and MINI Connected Services, plus Apple CarPlay.   

You can upgrade and get optional camera-based driver assistance systems with park distance control for squeezing into those tight parking spots.  

There are also options for a MINI head-up display, so you see your car’s speed without getting distracted from the road.     

A lot of the Clubman models also get luxury touches like heated seats and a sunroof for those summers' days.    

Is the MINI Clubman reliable?

Being part of the BMW group, there’s very little to be concerned about when it comes to reliability with a used MINI Clubman.  

It’s full of tried-and-tested parts, as well as some solid engines shared with its German counterpart.  

It’s safe too, scoring four out of five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP safety test in 2015.  

Every new MINI comes with a three-year warranty that can be passed down to subsequent owners.  

How much does the MINI Clubman cost to run?

You’ll get a choice of 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engines with the Clubman, and each one is easy to drive and efficient.  

That doesn’t mean it’s boring, however, as the Clubman can be fun to drive.  

It’s available as a petrol or diesel model with automatic and manual gearboxes and is offered in a range of trims that add on different driving aids and tech that’ll improve your drive.     

The standard model is the 1.5-litre engine that produces 136hp and is ideal for everyday use.    

The 2.0-litre Clubman Cooper S is the model for you if power and performance is a must, with 189hp on offer and a claimed 0-62mph of 7.2 seconds.     

All the Clubman models are enjoyable to drive and bring their own levels of power, so you can be sure you’ll never get a boring drive.  

Who is the MINI Clubman suitable for?

We’d recommend a used MINI Clubman to anyone who has dogs or a family because it’s got plenty of space and is compact enough for daily driving. 

We would advise getting the second-generation model as it has four doors and more interior space.  

Its main rivals include the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Yeti and KIA Soul.
