The GLA is a relatively new model, offering buyers an SUV version of the popular A-Class.

What features does the Mercedes-Benz GLA have?

Sharing most of its interior parts with the smaller A-Class, the GLA feels luxurious, comfortable and packed full of tech.

Other options available on higher Sport Executive and AMG trims include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, parking sensors, an upgraded sound system, AMG styling, interior ambient lighting strips and a glass panoramic sunroof.    

The boot space is impressive too, offering more room than the A-Class on which it's based.

It's built on Mercedes' precise production line which ensures quality, and is powered by some of the most dependable engines in the world. 

Plus, it's safe too, scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP safety test in 2019 where it proved impeccable safety for both adult and child occupants. 

How much does the Mercedes-Benz GLA cost to run?

When buying your used Mercedes-Benz GLA, you can choose from either a petrol, diesel or hybrid engine. 

The petrol engines are included with the GLA 180, GLA 200 and GLA 250 models.  

The two lower models are powered by a 1.3-litre engine that produces 135hp and 163hp respectively.   

The diesel engines on offer are based on a 2.0-litre unit in the form of the GLA 200d and GLA 220d. These are better for longer journeys or for those who might wish to tow a trailer.   

Last but not least is Mercedes’ proudest addition to the GLA lineup: the GLA 250e hybrid unit, which is mated to a 1.3-litre petrol engine.  

This produces a combined 218hp and is ideal for those living in towns or cities where all-electric power makes sense.    

Who is the Mercedes-Benz GLA suitable for?

You should buy a used Mercedes GLA if you need a small SUV with hatchback-like proportions.
