Mercedes EQE history
The Mercedes EQE has been out since 2022 after being first shown at the 2021 Munich Motor Show.
It originally arrived as a saloon then was later joined by an SUV variant in 2023.
Mercedes EQE bodystyles
There are two body shapes that sit under the EQE name – a saloon and an SUV.
A used Mercedes EQE is one of the most well-equipped cars money can buy, even in its most basic spec.
It’s the perfect luxury saloon (or SUV) for families who live in towns and cities and who like to venture out on the occasional longer journey, thanks to the EQE’s 388-mile range.
Added luxury features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, soft Airmatic suspension, comfortable seats and much more.
Rest-assured, you won’t be short of tech in this thing.
Being electric, the EQE is a very reliable car because it has fewer moving parts than in a standard internal combustion engine (ICE) car. Thanks to its German build quality, the EQE should be reliable regardless.
When it comes to safety, the EQE is up there with the best. Scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP crash testing, it’s clear to see why this car’s so sought-after.
The EQE is a comparably cheap car to run when you put it up against one of its petrol-powered rivals (or even siblings from Mercedes).
But EVs are usually cheaper to run anyway since they don’t need as much maintenance as petrol- or diesel-powered cars
As for charging costs, the EQE is fitted with a 90kWh battery that’s good for up to 388 miles of range.
It’ll take 30 minutes to 150kW fast charge from 20% to 80%, and around 15 hours when using a 7kW home wall box charger which means you can charge it overnight while you sleep.
In terms of insurance groups, the EQE (in both saloon and SUV form) sits at the top of the rankings in group 50. This means it’ll be on the higher end to insure, but it’s to be expected with the performance on offer.
A used Mercedes EQE for sale is perfect for families and working professionals alike.
Not only is it comfortable but it can go the distance, thanks to its impressive near-400-mile range.
If you’re still not sure, the EQE has some tough rivals you may want to consider including the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron and BMW i4.
A new EQE is an expensive car with prices going as high as £120,000 but opt for a nearly new used example and you can save more than half of that.
The EQE has an official range of up to 388 miles but in the real world, you’re likely to get a bit less from everyday driving.
There’s more head- and legroom in the back of the EQE, making it the better choice for taller passengers.
'EQ' stands for 'emotional quotient' (aka, emotional intelligence) and the 'E' at the end shows off its electric credentials.
This depends on the charger you use. It’ll take around 30 minutes with a 150kW fast charger and around 15 hours with a 7kW fast charger.
