What types of used Range Rover cars are there?

There’s a wide selection of Range Rover models on offer. Firstly, you choose between a standard wheelbase and long wheelbase. Then, you choose the trim level to sit on top of that, which includes the SE, HSE, Autobiography and SV. 

Most people will find the SE to be plenty as it comes with everything you’d need, but go for the Autobiography or SV and you’ll get the most luxurious driving experience imaginable – as you’d hope for the price. 

What features does the Range Rover have?

Well, what doesn’t it have? All Range Rovers come as standard with LED headlights, 20- or 21-inch wheels, a fixed panoramic roof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a cracking set of speakers. 

If you have the cash to spare, then there are plenty of options to add on. Is the Range Rover reliable?

Range Rover has had a rocky history with reliability over the years, with mixed verdicts on how it performs.

While some reviews are positive, the latest Range Rover is working hard to shift a below-average reliability rating from previous models.

Having said that, there are also plenty of examples where reliability isn’t an issue, with reports of Range Rovers driving well over 300,000 miles without any troubles. 

While reliability is intermittent, safety is a constant. Following its most recent safety testing by Euro NCAP in 2022, the Range Rover scored a full five stars, with particularly strong adult and child occupancy protection.

This is thanks to safety features such as ISOFIX, 360-degree cameras, a lane departure warning system and a forward collision mitigation system. 

How much does the Range Rover cost to run?

Being a luxury SUV, you can’t expect it to be all that cheap. But if you're spending north of £100,000 in some cases, this probably won’t worry you too much. 

The largest cost after the initial purchase or finance agreement is insurance, which will be fairly high with the Range Rover sitting in insurance group 50 – the highest there is. 

After this, you need to consider fuel, road tax and regular maintenance costs too.

The total average a Range Rover owner spends on fuel per year is around £2,000, then £500 to £1,000 on maintenance and around £560 on road tax.

This varies depending on how you drive and how many miles you drive a year, with the average being around 7,000 miles per year.
