Jaguar
E-PACE
The Jaguar E-PACE is based mostly on the Range Rover Evoque, and is a small premium SUV that offers high levels of comfort, great interior technology and the introduction of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option.
Since it launched in 2017, the Jaguar E-PACE went straight up against the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40, and was followed in 2019 by the Mercedes-Benz GLB.
The E-PACE stacks up very well against its competitors and offers a strong infotainment system and a PHEV hybrid option that's becoming very desirable to save on fuel consumption and increase the engine’s overall efficiency.
Over the years, the E-PACE has seen some very minor facelifts and interior upgrades to fit with the rest of the Jaguar Land Rover line-up, but other than that it has remained the same – proving it was fit for the job.
Inside, the Jaguar E-PACE is a very pleasant place to be. Jaguar interiors often feel a lot like a sportier version of a Range Rover’s interior, which is the perfect blend between luxury and trendy.
Two different interior options are available on the E-PACE, starting with the standard interior and moving up to the E-PACE R-Dynamic. This gets bright metal pedals, sports seats, and some exterior revisions.
Pre-facelift models released before 2021 feature a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that's offered with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Models released from 2021 onwards feature a larger and improved 11.4-inch display along with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that's standard across the range.
The boot measures in at 557 litres and is uprated to 1,234 litres with the rear seats folded flat, which is plenty of room for your weekly shop and/or luggage for the airport run.
You can see the full range of features included with each model by taking a look at our current used Jaguar E-PACE listings.
Jaguar’s E-PACE is available with the choice of three petrol engines and two diesel engine options.
The smaller 163hp mild-hybrid diesel engine is probably the best all-rounder because it's economical and receives good reviews. There is, however, a 204hp diesel option on offer that offers more speed and sharper acceleration.
Kicking off the petrol range is a 200hp plug-in hybrid engine that's mated to a 109hp electric motor, which is the better option if you do a lot of driving around town or cities.
There’s also the 250hp, which offers more power, but not quite as much as the range-topping P300 E-PACE that produces 300hp and is the quickest in the range. As a result, however, it is less fuel efficient.
Aside from the 163hp diesel engine, all E-PACE models feature four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox as standard.
Jaguar Land Rover have had their fair share of criticism over the years due to some models being less reliable than expected, but Jaguar has worked hard to improve this and the E-PACE offers better reliability than the brand's old models.
The Jaguar E-PACE is not fully electric, but there are plug-in hybrid versions on offer.
All models bar the entry-level diesel come as standard with four-wheel drive.
All Jaguar E-PACE models from 2018 come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
