The Honda Jazz is a veteran model that’s been around for more than 20 years, and yet it’s still one of the most desirable cars in its class

What features does the Honda Jazz have?

Despite being the cheapest car Honda sells, the Jazz isn’t devoid of technology.  

Standard features include all the usual bits and bobs you’d expect to find in a hatchback, plus a DAB radio and Bluetooth.    

Upgraded models feature a nine-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, an extra USB port, reversing camera, and an uprated sound system with eight speakers and a subwoofer.    

The boot is a decent 304 litres in size and can be extended to 1,205 litres once the rear seats are folded flat, making the Jazz much more practical than you would think from looking at its exterior and rivals.

Is the Honda Jazz reliable?

As a rule of thumb, Hondas are reliable cars, and the Jazz is no different.  

Its formula has been perfected over the last two decades to offer efficient engines that are durable for many years and miles.  

With all cars, if you stick to regular servicing and keep it well maintained, you shouldn’t have any problems.  

Every new Honda comes with a three-year/90,000-mile warranty that can be passed on to subsequent owners. 

It’s a safe car too with it scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP crash test in 2020.

How much does the Honda Jazz cost to run?

The Honda Jazz is now only available as a hybrid, but previous models include 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines, and you can still buy these on the used market.    

The new hybrid system is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that's mated to two electric motors producing 108hp.  

This allows it to get from 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds, which isn’t bad for a small hatchback.    

The hybrid system will also help if you want to improve your fuel efficiency and cut down running costs but don’t want to go fully electric. This system should return up to 63mpg, which is very impressive.  

Models are available with either a manual or automatic gearbox, both of which are smooth and easy to use.
