What is the Ford Kuga Vignale?

The Ford Kuga Vignale is the most luxurious variant of this popular family SUV and it comes with plenty of stylish chrome touches, high-quality materials and expensive-feeling tech.

A year after the Mondeo Vignale launched, Ford revealed the Kuga Vignale in 2016. Today, it’s a top-notch trim-level variant available on most of the brand’s models.

Vignale came at a time when four in five Kuga models being sold were high-spec Titanium models, signifying a clear need for even more luxury, which the Ford Kuga Vignale delivers.

What are the Ford Kuga Vignale specs?

When it launched, the previous-generation Ford Kuga Vignale came with a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, either with 150hp or 182hp, and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 150hp or 180hp. The higher-power engines came with all-wheel drive.

Now, the latest-generation model is available with a 190hp hybrid and a 225hp plug-in hybrid, alongside more conventional engine options.

You can’t buy a new diesel Kuga Vignale, but because it’s such a high trim level, you’ll be happy with the quality even when buying an older Kuga Vignale diesel.

Used Ford Kuga Vignale features and equipment

First and foremost, these cars look the part. Early Kuga Vignale models came with an eye-catching pearlescent paint job and a soft leather interior. Newer examples come with an equally stylish leather interior.

The latest models come with LED headlights, tinted windows, and plenty of chrome detailing on the exterior.

Equipment includes a powered boot lid, a digital instrument cluster and a further infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, heated front and rear seats, plus a heated steering wheel.

Vignale is about as luxurious as it gets in the Ford Kuga range, so unsurprisingly, it’s the model that comes with the most equipment.

Below the Vignale are sporty-looking ST-Line (X) (Edition) variants and Titanium (X) (Edition) models.

Previously, lower trim levels like Zetec were offered, but Ford stopped selling these on the Kuga, so every version of the SUV is well-equipped.
