What is the Ford Kuga ST-Line X?

ST-Line is a Ford trim level that’s inspired by the brand’s ST hot hatches, so it gets all of the sporty looks without the associated high running costs.

A used Ford Kuga ST-Line X is a step above the regular ST-Line models, which are already well-equipped. A Kuga ST-Line X for sale comes with some of the highest kit levels of any Kuga.

Despite its sporty looks, it’s available with the Kuga’s regular petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines, giving buyers a lot of choice.

What are the Ford Kuga ST-Line X specs?

The most appealing versions of the Kuga ST-Line X are actually the ones with the biggest engines – the 2.5-litre petrol that powers the 190hp hybrid and 225hp plug-in hybrid models promises to be very economical, but they’re both pretty quick, too.

A facelifted Kuga ST-Line X, which was introduced in 2024, comes with a 180hp hybrid and a 243hp plug-in hybrid engine. The regular hybrid is also available with four-wheel drive and gets an extra 3hp.

Many buyers will opt for the popular 1.5-litre 150hp EcoBoost petrol engine that’s found in other Ford models, like the Focus. Older models were also available with 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre diesels, with power ranging from 120hp to 180hp.

Used Ford Kuga ST-Line X features and equipment

A used Kuga ST-Line X represents one of the highest trim levels available, so you can expect a lot of equipment.

Facelifted 2024-onward models come with an opening panoramic sunroof, front and rear heated seats and a heated steering wheel, a powered boot lid, all-round parking sensors with a 360-degree parking camera, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and a large 13-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system that runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Even previous-generation models sold before 2019 came with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, keyless start, and some of the other features mentioned above.

Where the Kuga ST-Line X sits in the Ford range

Besides the occasional special edition, the ST-Line X sits at the top of the range, a step above the equally sporty ST-Line.

Beneath those are Titanium and Titanium X models, which are almost as well equipped but aren’t as eye-catching.

Other models – such as the mid-spec Active, entry-level Zetec and premium-feeling Vignale – have also been available.
