What is the Ford Edge ST-Line?

ST-Line is the name given to Ford’s sportier-looking models, which take inspiration from performance ST models.

It’s a worthy car for a style-conscious family, because it’s incredibly spacious, looks great, and comes with some powerful engines that can still be reasonably economical.

The Edge was only on sale for a few years, and Ford changed trim levels during this time, so an ST-Line model will get you one of the newer cars.

What are the Ford Edge ST-Line specs?

The Ford Edge only comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, but there are a few configurations depending on model year, with power outputs of 150hp, 180hp, 210hp or 238hp.

There’s generally a good mix of manuals and automatics to pick from, and most cars – except for the least powerful – come with four-wheel drive.

All can tow up to 2,000kg, but the added traction and torque (500Nm) of the most powerful model makes this specific Ford Edge ST-Line 4x4 an excellent tow car.

Some of the cosmetic changes for ST-Line variants include huge 20-inch alloy wheels, revised bumpers, chrome exhaust pipes, and black roof rails. They also get a stiffer suspension setup.

Inside, there are power-adjustable front seats, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, cruise control and an upgraded 1,000W B&O sound system.

The car also gets dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, keyless entry and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Where the Edge ST-Line sits in the Ford range

Being Ford’s biggest SUV, the Edge is designed to be a premium vehicle, so trim level choices are limited because they’re all high-quality.

ST-Line is a sporty model that sits alongside the well-equipped Titanium trim, but there’s also a plusher Vignale version.

Some earlier models were also available in a lower-spec Zetec trim, and a Sport model was available before ST-Line became an option.
