DS 7 Crossback
Use our Help Me Choose tool to go from 1000s of cars to just a handful of recommendations — and cinch your search.
Start nowIf you’re buying a DS 7 Crossback, you’re one of two types of people. You either love the DS brand and this is your second, maybe third one. Or you’ve never heard of the brand and thought it was just a Citroen.
This is where the DS 7 Crossback comes into play as a serious, genuine contender for a family SUV that’s practical, stylish and nice to live with.
Popular DS 7 Crossback trims
There are a few different trims to choose from, giving you plenty of flexibility.
> DS 7 Crossback Performance Line + – entry model that’s well-equipped from the factory with 19-inch alloy wheels, twin 12.3-inch displays and bi-zone automatic climate control
> DS 7 Crossback Rivoli – mid-spec with added chrome accents, a different wheel design and more tech
> DS 7 Crossback Opera – a further improvement with the most luxurious interior and upmarket feel
DS 7 Crossback history
With it being a relatively recent model, the DS 7 Crossback doesn’t have a long history but has been solid throughout.
> First-generation DS 7 Crossback (2017-2022) - a mid-size family SUV with strong practicality, tech and comfort
> Facelifted DS 7 (2022-present) - dropping the ‘Crossback’ name, this minor facelift featured minor improvements that made a big difference
Step inside, and you’re greeted with a sleek and upmarket look along with the signature DS bumps and sharp angles – it’s like Prada has accidentally designed a car interior instead of a handbag.
Tech includes the usual Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which are displayed on the massive 12.3inch central screen, paired with the second 12.3-inch display in front of the driver.
All models come really well-equipped out of the factory, plus there are optional extras such as a tow bar, upgraded sound system and even night vision technology.
Sharing many of its parts with the Peugeot 3008, we see no reason why the DS 7 Crossback would cause any troubles.
Now sitting under the Stellantis umbrella, the DS brand is much more reliable than ever before.
A new DS 7 Crossback comes with a very standard three-year/60,000-mile warranty which can be passed on to used car owners.
There are two engine options on offer: a diesel or petrol plug-in hybrid. The latter is the one to have because it’s the more modern of the two and offers up to 36 miles of electric-only driving.
In terms of fuel economy, the DS 7 diesel gets up to 53.3mpg, whereas the hybrid returns 100mpg+ (combined), but expect this to be less in the real world once the battery runs out.
A used DS 7 Crossback is an ideal car for swanky families after a quirky look while still getting enhanced comfort and added features.
Its premium rivals include the Audi Q3, Mercedes GLC and BMW X1.
The DS 7 Crossback shares its parts with the Peugeot 3008 but is made by DS Automobiles.
Brand-new the DS 7 starts at just over £38,000 but can rise well above £50,000. Buy a used example on cinch and you can save a large chunk of cash on a nearly new one.
It’s essentially the luxury spin-off of Citroen which has evolved into a brand of its own. A bit like what CUPRA is to SEAT.
This will vary on trim, but some models come with heated and ventilated seats.
Depending on spec, you will get an electric sliding panoramic sunroof.
