Dacia buying guide
Dacia used cars
Despite being a ‘budget brand’, Dacia benefits from Renault’s engineering and various parts, so you know they are cars you can depend on.
From hatchbacks to SUVs and seven-seater family cars, Dacias are great for a wide range of buyers.
History of Dacia
Dacia has been around since 1966 but only really started to gain traction outside of Romania when Renault bought the company in 1999, and introduced models such as the Sandero and later the Duster, Logan and Jogger.
Being a global megastar, Dacia is now the most profitable company in Romania, selling more than 500,000 cars in 2021 alone.
With help from Renault, it’s beginning its transition to electric cars.
Standout Dacia features
You’d think a Dacia used car would be lacking a few bells and whistles, but modern examples are filled with some of the latest car tech, from a large central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to parking cameras and cruise control.
You can also benefit from a four-wheel-drive system in Duster models, which makes living in the countryside a bit easier – especially with either a manual or automatic gearbox.
Building on the features front, all Dacia cars for sale take safety seriously, which is why they come with safety equipment such as airbags, rear ISOFIX child seat mounting points, speed assistance and seatbelt reminders.
This is also linked with reliability, which is very strong thanks to Renault’s strong track record that carries on into its sister brand.
Driving a Dacia
With small petrol or diesel engines built in a strong and simple way, used Dacia cars offer affordable running costs and a low overall cost of ownership, meaning they’re cheap to buy, insure, tax and live with on a daily basis.
Plus, nearly-new used models benefit from the brand’s three-year/60,000-mile warranty.
You should buy a used Dacia car if you want to take the faff out of motoring and drive something that’s comfortable and won’t cost you much.
Popular used Dacia cars
There are a few different used Dacia cars for sale, including the Dacia hatchbacks, Dacia SUVs and Dacia estate cars.
All of these are budget cars that offer great value for money and mean it’s more affordable to bag a great car for less on the used car market.
