History of Dacia

Dacia has been around since 1966 but only really started to gain traction outside of Romania when Renault bought the company in 1999, and introduced models such as the Sandero and later the Duster, Logan and Jogger. 

Being a global megastar, Dacia is now the most profitable company in Romania, selling more than 500,000 cars in 2021 alone. 

With help from Renault, it’s beginning its transition to electric cars.

You’d think a Dacia used car would be lacking a few bells and whistles, but modern examples are filled with some of the latest car tech, from a large central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to parking cameras and cruise control.

Does Dacia make electric cars?

Dacia unveiled the Spring in 2021, which is an all-electric supermini that will offer plenty of range at a very affordable price. However, this isn’t expected to arrive in the UK until 2024.
