The BYD ATTO 3 arrived on our shores in 2023, and just a few months later it was already the best-selling car in Sweden – showing how popular it became in such a short space of time.

What features does the BYD ATTO 3 have?

Believe it or not, the BYD ATTO 3 is actually inspired by ancient dragons adn this can be seen in its front design. Parts of the interior are said to be inspired by gym equipment - with the central air vent resembling a dumbbell.  

Inside, the standout feature is the central infotainment screen (either 12.8- or 15.6 inches). It’s not only crisp and easy to use but also rotates between portrait and landscape mode at the push of a button. 

This screen, as well as the car’s built-in infotainment system, runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to easily keep your phone connected to the car at all times, if you fancy it. 

Another feature unique to the ATTO 3 are the guitar strings found on the inner parts of the doors where you can play a tune while stuck in traffic. They also double up as netting so your bottles don’t rattle around in the door. 

Is the BYD ATTO 3 reliable?

Being an electric car, the BYD ATTO 3 is one of the most reliable cars on the road, thanks to electric motors with fewer moving parts than a traditional internal combustion engine. 

It’s also a safe car, scoring a full five stars at its most recent Euro NCAP safety test in 2022, offering incredible safety for adult and child occupants. 

Onboard safety features include automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning (FCW), rear collision warning (RCW) and blind spot warning. 

How much does the BYD ATTO 3 cost to run?

Being the makers of the BYD Blade battery used in Teslas, there’s no surprise that the BYD ATTO 3 inherits some of this genius for its own. 

Underneath, you’ll find a 60kWh battery that offers a 261-mile range and fast charging up to 88kW which gives you a charge from 30-80% in 29 minutes. 

Like with all EVs, it’s far cheaper to charge your car at home, costing 7p/kWh in some instances, whereas a public rapid charger can cost 79p/kWh. 

Around town, you should get close to that claimed range, but if you’re driving at higher speeds on the motorway, you may not be so lucky.
