Who are BMW automatic cars suitable for?

Already known for their premium cars, used BMW automatic cars for sale offer a pleasant, relaxing experience behind the wheel.

Driving a BMW automatic car takes the hassle away, whether you’re zipping around city side streets or munching through those motorway miles.

What are BMW automatic cars like to drive?

Used BMW automatic cars are like any other automatic car to drive: simply select drive and apply the throttle – it’s as easy as that. And of course there’s no clutch to worry about.

Most models use smooth torque converter gearboxes, but some newer cars and performance editions use dual-clutch automatics (DCT). Whichever you buy, you can leave it in auto mode, or take over with manual controls, which can be found on the gear selector or steering wheel-mounted paddles.

BMW automatic or manual?

Petrolheads sometimes prefer to change gear themselves, and given that BMW attracts a lot of them, some BMW manual cars still exist – especially on the used market.

Most newer BMW cars for sale are automatic, for example the 1 Series got rid of its manual gearbox in 2024.

Because you can take control of gear shifts in all of BMW’s automatics, they strike a happy medium and suit most drivers just fine.

Should I buy a used BMW automatic car?

Which BMW car is automatic?

All BMW cars are available with automatic gearboxes, so you can pick from any of their body styles to suit your family’s needs.

Are there any automatic BMWs?

Nearly all of BMW’s cars on sale today are automatic, but if you’re buying used, you’ll still see plenty of manuals around.

What is the best second-hand BMW to buy?

BMWs are considered safe and long-lasting, so pay attention to what you need. That could be a crossover like the X1, a saloon like the 3 Series or a family estate like the 5 Series Touring.

Which is the cheapest BMW to buy?

The cheapest BMW for sale will usually be the smallest – hatchbacks like the 1 Series and crossovers like the X1 and X2 tend to be more affordable.

What is the difference between BMW Sport Auto and automatic?

Sports automatic transmissions hold onto the gear for longer, and change up later. They’ll also change down sooner when you’re slowing down. This helps the car to be in the most powerful rev range, so it’s ready to go when you stamp on it.
