What is the Audi A1 citycarver?

Compared to regular versions of the A1, a used A1 citycarver comes with around 4cm more ground clearance, giving it much more road presence.

Its design is inspired by Audi’s Q series SUVs, so it has an SUV-esque front end and grille design and plastic cladding around the wheelarches.

Rather than offering any off-road ability, the A1 citycarver promises to be an eye-catching, high-spec version of the popular premium A1 hatchback.

What are the Audi A1 citycarver specs?

There are only two engine options for the Audi A1 citycarver, but they’re different enough to appeal to different types of drivers.

The 1.0-litre 30 TFSI, with 116hp, is an excellent pick for those spending most of their time around town.

A more powerful 150hp 1.5-litre petrol, badged 35 TFSI, is also available. It’s less efficient, but it can switch off half the engine when coasting to save fuel.

Used Audi A1 citycarver features and equipment

The Audi A1 citycarver is a well-equipped model and comes laden with car tech, including a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

You also get rear parking sensors, cruise control, LED headlights, sporty front seats and safety kit like a lane departure warning system.

Check any individual listing carefully, because some optional extras were available such as a larger infotainment screen, front parking sensors, heated front seats and an upgraded B&O sound system.

Where the A1 citycarver sits in the Audi range

For the two years between 2019 and 2021 that the Audi A1 citycarver was on sale, it sat somewhere between the Sport and S line models, but also slightly separately, almost as its own model.

Desirable S line models are well-equipped, but they come under the more aggressive-looking Black Edition cars and premium Vorsprung models.

While Sport is currently the entry-level version, earlier cars came with SE and Technik options, which can be more affordable.
