What is the Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition?

Black Edition was a limited edition trim level introduced in mid-2020, which, as the name suggests, adds black styling details to the T-Roc.

Besides the styling enhancements, the Black Edition model also comes with a lot of equipment because it’s considered a mid-spec trim level.

It has a look of T-Roc R about it, but for a much more affordable price, and with far more economical petrol and diesel engine options.

What are the Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition specs?

The engine range for the T-Roc is pretty simple, and most buyers tend to go for one of the petrol engines, which are 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre units.

There are also two diesels, though they’re generally less common as most T-Roc drivers tend to spend their time around town, where petrol power can be more environmentally friendly. They’re 1.6- and 2.0-litre engines.

Power output for the smaller petrol and diesel engines is 115hp, and the two larger petrol and diesel engines produce 150hp. This makes it easy to understand your options.

Used Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition features and equipment

When Volkswagen announced the launch of the T-Roc Black Edition, it said that the car would add a considerable value boost, and its equipment level backs that up.

Standard kit includes adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights and interior ambient lighting.

Some optional extras worth keeping your eye out for include leather upholstery and an upgraded Beats sound system.

Where the T-Roc Black Edition sits in the Volkswagen range

The Volkswagen T-Roc Black Edition is a limited-run model that adds more equipment to the mid-spec SE trim, which sits one step above the entry-level S model.

Above SE are Design and SEL variants, plus the sporty-looking R-Line and the performance T-Roc R model, which has a 300hp 2.0-litre petrol engine.

Facelifted T-Roc models have a slightly different range of trims, ranging from Life and Match to Style and R-Line.
