Tesla
Model 3
The Model 3 is the cheapest electric car Tesla makes, but it’s by no means the least impressive. Aside from its good looks and impressive range, the Model 3 is famous for its industry-leading interior, which is packed full of the latest and greatest technology.
All Model 3s feature the same technology, including a high-resolution 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system that controls everything, from the air conditioning to opening the glove box.
There’s no central instrument cluster in the Model 3 because everything is displayed on the car’s central screen, but all the data you need to know while driving is in sight.
Tesla is as much a car company as it is a tech company, and that really shows throughout the interior.
Being an electric car, the Model 3 is very reliable because there are fewer moving parts to go wrong.
There’s also good news if you care about safety because the Tesla Model 3 might be the safest car on the road. It scored an impressive five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating and even became the highest-rated car in the safety assist category, scoring 94%.
Tesla’s autopilot technology didn’t contribute to these test scores, but it is useful in the event of an accident and can even prevent them from happening in the first place.
Plus, when you buy a new car with us, you get a 90-day free warranty and opt into cinchCare to ensure the longevity of your vehicle.
Where do you even begin with the Tesla Model 3’s interior features? From its panoramic sunroof that blocks out 99% of UV light to a vegan leather interior, USB charging capabilities, wireless phone charging (in newer models), and, of course, self-driving, which is still in its infancy but is coming along rapidly.
Self-driving is an optional pack on Teslas but can be purchased via the app. It allows the car to essentially drive itself, and it can even follow the car’s sat nav and locate the nearest charging stations.
There’s also the option to use Tesla’s mobile app to control features such as pre-heat the car, check the charge status of the battery, sound the horn, and use the summon feature, which enables to car to drive towards you if it is parked in a tight space.
Powering the Tesla Model 3 is an electric motor offering different power outputs depending on the trim level. The entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive Model 3 is powered by a single 180kW motor that gives it a top speed of 140mph and an estimated range of 305 miles on a single charge.
The Model 3 Long Range is powered by a dual motor setup, giving it all-wheel drive, a top speed of 145mph and an estimated range of 374 miles.
The range-topping Model 3 Performance is where it gets very impressive. This is also powered by a dual motor setup but instead has a top speed of 162mph and an estimated 340-mile range, but with a 0-62mph time of 3.1 seconds thanks to its 554hp output.
The Model 3 can be charged either at home or via one of Tesla’s Superchargers, which are dotted around the country and with more on the way.
The cost of a Tesla Model 3 will depend on the model you pick, as prices vary across the range. We usually see our cheapest Model 3s costing around £36,750 to buy, with prices going up to about £50,800 depending on the model variant and engine spec.
These prices may change depending on the models we have in stock at the time, and each one is available on a finance deal if you’d like to spread the cost.
You can use our finance eligibility calculator on the model pages to work out a deal that fits your budget.
How long it takes to charge a Tesla Model 3 really depends on where you charge it. For example, using a Tesla Supercharger will take less than 30 minutes, whereas a wall charger at home might take several hours to fully charge your Model 3.
In terms of cost, it would be cheaper to charge at home, but it will take longer. At the end of the day, it depends which method works best for you.
It's definitely worth buying a Tesla Model 3 if you are either someone who's ready to take the EV plunge or whether you are an existing EV customer but fancy something different. The Model 3 offers great reliability, safety, performance, tech, and comfort at a competitive price.
Teslas don’t need a lot of maintenance compared to cars with petrol or diesel engines simply because there are less moving parts that could go wrong. There is also no need to worry about engine oil and other maintenance like that because the batteries are self-sufficient.
Any modern Tesla can be fitted with the brand’s Autopilot system by purchasing it through the app. It comes at an added cost but is worth trying for someone who does a lot of motorway miles, or for someone who is interested in the latest and greatest technology.
