Taking over the Partner MPV in 2018, the Rifter introduced a more SUV-like feel and is larger in every single way.

What features does the Peugeot Rifter have?

We hate to state the obvious, but the Rifter stands for one thing and one thing only: practicality.  

MPVs such as this Peugeot offer a level of interior space that a SUV simply can’t, thanks to its boxy shape and deep 3,000-litre loading area. 

Even while you’re hauling around up to six passengers with a boot full of shopping, you can still benefit from its other features. 

The base-spec Allure trim gets air-con, a full-width overhead storage shelf, under-seat storage, six speakers and a few USB ports. 

Upgrade to the top-spec GT model and you get all of the above plus a leather steering wheel and Peugeot’s I-Cockpit infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  

Is the Peugeot Rifter reliable?

In previous years, Peugeot didn’t have the best reputation when it came to reliability, but nowadays things are different, and they have been for some time now.

With a push towards electric vehicles, Peugeot will now only sell you the all-electric e-Rifter from the factory, which gets a 50kWh electric motor and a range of up to 172 miles. It also benefits from 100kW rapid charging capabilities so you can reach 80% battery in just 30 minutes. 

Another cost to consider is insurance. The petrol and diesel Rifter models sit between insurance groups 8 and 16, whereas the e-Rifter will cost a tad more in group 20. 

Overall, costs shouldn’t be too high, but this depends largely on the driver’s history and many other factors.  

Who is the Peugeot Rifter suitable for?

A used Peugeot Rifter is the perfect family companion if you have lots of people to lug around or even a dog who likes to join for the ride.
