Start nowThe Mercedes-Benz B-Class is closely related to the A-Class hatchback, but you wouldn’t know it from the masses on interior space you get in comparison. It can easily seat five adult passengers, while still maintaining plenty of boot space for luggage.
However, if it’s luxury you are after, then the B-Class has you covered. Just like all other modern Mercedes models, the B-Class is fitted with the brand’s class-leading MBUX touchscreen infotainment system.
There’s a wide range of models to choose from, too. There’s the sporty GT-Line, the range-topping Premium Plus, and options for both petrol and diesel.

A used Mercedes-Benz B-Class is ideal if you need to transport people or luggage. Being sized like an MPV, it copes perfectly with whatever you need to fill it with.
The boot measures in at 455 litres but can be increased to a staggering 1,540 litres when the rear seats are folded – making it the best in its class.
The entry-level B-Class model is the Sport trim, offering climate control, LED headlights, heated front seats, and a handy seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.
This system can be controlled via the touchpad on the centre console or via buttons on the steering wheel, so it's easy to use. Alternatively, you can simply say 'Hey Mercedes' and recite your command from there.
You’d be hard-pressed to differentiate the entry-level model from the range-topping Premium Plus trim, but the extended 10.25-inch instrument cluster and touchscreen might give it away.
There’s also the AMG Line, which gets sportier steering and a lower suspension for a more aggressive vibe.
You can see the full range of features in each model by checking our current used Mercedes-Benz B-Class listings.
Mercedes doesn't mess about when it comes to reliability. Not only is the B-Class comfortable and easy to drive but it's also very reliable for families. This is thanks to its impressive range of engines and superb German build quality.
While it's dependable, a used B-Class is also a very safe car, scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP safety tests in 2019.
There’s a wide range of Mercedes-Benz B-Class engines to choose from, but each one has that classic Mercedes feel.
The entry-level engine option that comes with the B180 model is a small petrol engine that produces 134hp.
Going up from there is the B200’s 161hp engine, which offers a little more punch but perhaps isn’t the best choice if you plan on driving around with a full car most of the time, and is better for everyday driving.
Instead, something like the B220 or B250’s 2.0-litre petrol engines would be a better choice as they offer more power to get larger loads moving.
However, if you would rather opt for a diesel variant then we would suggest looking at the B220d, which produces 190hp and will serve you better for longer journeys, offering an average fuel consumption of 56.5mpg.
You should consider buying a used B-Class if you need a great family car and want that added Mercedes luxury inside the cabin.
It competes with cars such as the Volkswagen Golf SV, Renault Scenic and the Citroen C4 Space Tourer, but the luxe Mercedes-Benz reputation gives a used B-Class an edge.
BlueEFFICIENCY is Mercedes-Benz's fuel-saving and emission-reducing technology. In the B-Class, it includes features like aerodynamic improvements and energy-efficient components, enhancing fuel efficiency and environmental performance.
As a compact MPV, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class offers advantages like a versatile interior, easy entry and exit and a higher driving position.
It combines the practicality of an MPV with luxury features, making it a great choice for those seeking comfort and functionality in a compact package.
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class integrates advanced safety features including active brake assist, attention assist and adaptive cruise control.
These technologies enhance safety by providing collision prevention, driver monitoring and intelligent cruise control.
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class interior design caters to families with a spacious and flexible layout, ample boot space and different rear-seat configurations.
Quality materials, ergonomic design and advanced infotainment enhance the overall comfort and convenience.
It offers versatile seating, with options for rear seat configurations to accommodate passengers or expand boot space.
It's ideal for most families, boasting a 455-litre boot that grows to 1,530 litres when the rear seats are folded, and up to five seats.
