What features does the Mazda CX-30 have?

Being a small SUV, the CX-30 appeals to a wide range of people because it’s practical, easy to drive and park, and stylish. 

Inside, the CX-30 takes it up a notch as it begins to rival the likes of Mercedes and BMW. It does this by using soft-touch materials and offering a large 8.8-inch infotainment screen. 

Aside from this, all models come as standard with a seven-inch driver’s display that replaces the analogue dials of yesteryear.  

Basic SE-L trim features grey fabric seats, but move up to the GT models and you get a full leather interior. 

All models come with a sat-nav as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. 

Is the Mazda CX-30 reliable?

The CX-30 scored a full five-star rating in its most recent Euro NCAP crash-test, offering superb adult and child occupant safety.

How much does the Mazda CX-30 cost to run?

The Mazda CX-30 comes with a choice of two petrol engines. Both are 2.0-litre, four-cylinder units, with one producing 122hp and the other 186hp. 

Both offer Mazda’s clever Skyactiv-X technology, which promises up to 30% more performance and 20-30% more fuel efficiency than the older Skyactiv engines. 

This means fuel costs are kept to a minimum and you have plenty of poke for coming out of junctions or overtaking, regardless of whether you have a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. 

Mazda claims these engines will get in the region of 40-50mpg depending on the configuration and how it’s driven. 

Being an affordable family car, you want it to be reasonable to insure – and it is, sitting between insurance groups 12 and 20. For reference, the lower the number below 50, the cheaper the car is to insure. 

Maintenance costs are low too, with the CX-30 offering impeccable build quality and tried-and-tested engines.
