The Jeep Renegade launched in 2014 as Jeep’s smallest model, and created its own niche in the market as an off-road-capable small SUV that offered a surprising amount of practicality.   

The Renegade is based on the same platform as the Fiat 500X, which can be traced back to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. This shows the Renegade features tried-and-tested components throughout.

What features does the Jeep Renegade have?

Inside, the Jeep Renegade is a spacious and practical car, despite it not looking all that big from the outside.    

Standard equipment available includes electric mirrors, dual-zone air-con and parking sensors.   

Every Jeep Renegade for sale also comes with lots of nods to the car’s ancestors, including brake lights designed to resemble US Army petrol cans, mud splatter graphics on the rev counter and little Jeep graphics dotted around the place.   

In addition to this, every model from 2018 comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. There's also built-in sat-nav, USB charging capabilities and Bluetooth connectivity.   

The Renegade offers 351 litres of boot space, which grows to 1,297 litres once the rear seats are folded flat. There's also a decent amount of interior cabin space for up to five passengers.

Is the Jeep Renegade reliable?

Because the used Jeep Renegade shares its platform with the popular Fiat 500X, it should offer strong levels of reliability thanks to the Stellantis Group ownership that covers a lot of brands. 

How much does the Jeep Renegade cost to run?

Although it’s a 4x4 that’s a fair bit bigger than your typical family hatchback, most versions of the Jeep Renegade for sale can be fuel efficient. The best of the bunch is the plug-in hybrid, which can do around 26 miles without needing to fire up the engine. 

You might also be pleasantly surprised that the used Jeep Renegade sits in reasonably low insurance groups, making long-term ownership especially attractive.

A used Jeep Renegade makes for an excellent choice for families after a stylish SUV that, unlike many others, actually has good off-road ability.
